Disney are stopping physical tickets - need some advice

They still use them as room keys at hotels and can exchange e-tickets at the guest services outside parks for the plastic tickets.

You don't have to use a mobile phone or magic band if you don't want to.

Edit: if you do collect the free Star Wars magic bands they were all the same. I used a dot of different coloured nail varnishes on the inside so we could tell them apart.

Yes I’ve made most but can go and make the rest now. We aren’t that bothered though which park if any we end up in so that’s good.

Disney can not push everyone to use a phone or magic band for entry. Not everyone individually owns a phone and not all phones have NFC on them (newer ones do). As mentioned above you can goto guest services (will call) with your digital refrence and get a plastic ticket (it could change).

You will still be able to pick up plastic tickets at the Will Call booths even after September. Not everyone has smartphones or, even if they do, wants to take them to the park with them. And not everyone has MagicBands. So Disney has to provide some way for guests who have bought tickets but don't have those items to actually enter the parks, so they'll still provide plastic tickets.

It's just that Disney will no longer be providing the plastic tickets to third-party sellers to post out. Disney stopped posting them out themselves a few years ago. You'll have to pick up the tickets at the parks, that's all.

BTW, "Will Call booths" are the fancy name for the ticket desks at the entrance to all of the parks. The name comes from theatres and cinemas. You would phone the theatre to book a ticket and then say that you "will call" in at the theatre's ticket desk to pick up the ticket on another day or on the evening of the performance.

Exactly this. Just show your email ticket at the ticket window and they will give you a plastic card. Far safer than relying on the post. You can even get another one if you lose the first.
