BA Gatwick Check in

Having never flown BA and Gatwick I have been reading up on their check in procedure as I want a lounge and fast track security.

14:30 flight the BA website states I can’t do twilight check in as the flight is too late but will have checked in online and have boarding pass. However it states that bag drop opens two hours before the flight as below.

“World Traveller
World Traveller Plus
Euro Traveller
From 2 hours before your flight departure time, but not before the earliest opening time of 04:00 (check-in open from 03:00)”

So therefor this really limits the time after security and in the terminal making a lounge less appealing as would only have an hour. Can anyone confirm if this is right still?
Thanks

You’re misinterpreting it. You’ll be able to bag drop whenever you want. Most aim for 3 hours before flight time for long hauls.

Yes 3 hours is my usual I just wonder why it says 2? I assumed it was to reduce queues and capacity in the main terminal.
