Companion flight

Just been on to virgin to move miles from one account to another and asked if my companion flight was still on the system and when he looked he said I had 1 and 1/2 companion vouchers.
How on earth do you end up with half a companion flight and what can it be used for

Virgin - via their credit card offer a voucher to allow 2 tickets for the miles of one

When I booked our reward flights for next May last month, I knew we had a companion flight. The Virgin rep said we also had an upgrade voucher which we also used so I have no idea what that was. It was only showing one voucher on DH’s account when I looked. It cost us £1900 plus 90,000 points and I was expecting 145,000.

But perhaps I misunderstood how it works.

Have you upgraded recently? One way would do it.

We were looking at specific dates for next year and speaking with them, one of the dates wasn’t available so could use one voucher to upgrade one leg for two people. Though we were able to finger both legs of the trip upgraded in the end.
