We are a family of 4, my daughter will be 16 and step daughter will be 11 when we board. I was Really worried that there won’t be any kids at all on board so it’s reassuring to know that there will At least be another child on the ship then.

We are also bringing our mums too, they were happy to share with each child so we got a Cabin to ourselves! Bonus 😁

If you have a read of my carnival trip below, you will see that we do all of our trips on our own. Also search on here in the trip reports for past Disney cruises in the med, loads of people do their own thing.

Also when you are ready to start planning look on cruise critic and just search on your port and again you will find lots of trip reports where folks DIY.

I assume you are going to naples, so that one is easy, lots of hydrofoils when you get off the boat to take you to places like Sorrento, Capri, you can take a train to Pompeii or you can book your own tours privately.

For France, we joined with others on our ship for a private tour worked out at £50 each in 2018 and we went to Cassis and Aux Provence. I am not sure how to get there on public transport, but to get Marseilles, you follow the green line painted on the floor when you get off the ship that takes you to the port bus. When you get off this, walk over the road on the zebra crossing and you need to find the bus stop for number 22 bus I think it is, ask to make sure as it’s a few years since we last went. It’s about 15 mins away on the bus.
I found a Utube video on how to do it.

Check out FB to see if there is a group set up or cruise critic for your sailing.

Enjoy.

Keep checking your cruise planner as prices do go up and down and you can cancel your packages and rebook at the cheaper price, if one comes along

There will be plenty of kids on board. Often if you find the Facebook group for your cruise the kids will get in touch with each other beforehand. (Older teens). If not if they go to the kids club on the first evening they all get to know each other. Then after that my daughter met up with loads of teens in and out of the club.
