Virgin holidays car hire, easy to change?

Those who use Virgin car hire, they are coming out on the virgin holidays website car only, with some prices much cheaper than either Andy or uscarhire.

Can someone confirm you have to pay in full at time of booking (flights already booked with Virgin) ?

How easy is it to cancel/rebook with their car hire

We had car hire booked with them for one of the cancelled Covid trips. Had to pay in full but I would do that with car hire anyway booking direct with suppliers. We did make any chances but cancelling was straightforward with a call to VH.

You have to call VH - only problem right now is they cant take a long time to answer.

I booked our large van with Virgin Holidays some weeks ago - they were miles cheaper than anywhere else - paid in full - but T&C's said easy cancellation or amendment - I checked for about 4 weeks after booking (is for May next year 15 seat van - 12 would have done) �1539 - price stayed same for weeks and still a lot cheaper than others.

By the time we go - my hope is we can get 8 seat SUV and a car for the same price - party of 8.

Edited to add - just checked Virgin price for my existing booking �2640!
