Pick up

Looking at car hire prices and for some weird reason a pick up is coming out far cheaper than even a compact car. Does anyone know of any issues that I need to be aware of if we decide to go for one.

There's only the two of us so cab and luggage space isn't an issue.

Cheers.

They guzzle the gas and it’s like driving a tank but apart from that none parking is easy
As the spaces are huge
I will admit at 5ft I’m none to elegant at getting in or out but I love DHs as you are high up and can see what’s going on

Just booked one. We usually have an SUV, so I doubt the MPG is going to be much worse and as we're only doing 8 days the £80+ saving will easily cover it.

It states Chevy Colorado or similar and if we can get one of those I won't be too unhappy, as the reviews are pretty decent. Just need a MAGA hat and some Country and Western 8 tracks and I'll be sorted.

I can see you now hogging that highway in a F150 with a bit of straw hanging from your lower lip, Stetson dipped, checked shirt, 501s and Brad Paisley blaring.

Btw apparently the new neighbor across the road from where we go has recently put up a flag pole, old Glory at the top and a Trump 2024 MAGA flag underneath.
The local BBQs will be a laugh when we first get introduced..
I’ve already been told to be on my best behaviour.

So you're going with a Standard Pickup, they aren't as thirsty as the larger F-150's type. I'd recommend try to get a Toyota Tacoma if possible, nice ride!

Only think you need to worry about in Florida is the thunderstorm! Don’t leave your luggage or anything else in there or it may get wet!🤣
