Decorating- what’s on trend?
Colour wise at the moment? we’re about to decorate our living room, I was going to go pale grey and a deep blue feature wall, but is something else more current? I’m not great at visualising what colours go with what, everything is magnolia at the moment and I’d like to be a bit more adventurous x

Seems to be a lot of either neutrals or greys around at the moment.
I’m moving soon and I’m pretty sure I’m going to have a mostly grey and white theme in one room and a monochrome theme in another. Honestly I’m so indecisive, but I feel I’ll just go with what appeals to me and make it work. |

When we moved last year every single house was grey. It was so boring.
The house we have bought has a dark navy living room. I think this is also 'a trend'. It will be getting painted soon. I prefer to decorate as I like rathe than to a trend. |

We have light grey walls and a dark navy "feature wall" although the feature wall is behind us!
We also have dark brown sofas and i have been trying to decorate as if they were light grey - its not worked! So I am going to add in some greenery and hopefully that'll do it. I would love to change the sofas but we have only just finished paying for them |

I've just done my Lounge and gone back to Wallpaper on the main wall. I feel that greys and beiges have finally had there day.
Also just done the bathroom in a Jungle Monkey wallpaper including Monkey Light and Toilet Accessories. Decided to go crazy till I can afford that classy Bathroom in a couple of years

I thought grey was out now.
I don't do trends, I go for the colours I like though can be difficult to find colours that aren't on "trend"

Thanks everyone, I quite like grey so maybe I should ignore what’s trendy and go for what I like, also we live by the seaside so a blue feature wall should work well x

Greys and beiges are definitely not gone, all I see on Instagram is grey & beige 😂 (I follow home accounts mainly)
Although I do tend to go for neutrals because I like it, it feels clean and feels fresh. Go with what you like otherwise you’l end up wanting to change it again soon! I go on Instagram a lot for inspiration though, really handy if you’re wanting some ideas! Edited at 08:35 AM. |

I've always done my own thing. At one point all the "public rooms" here were shades of blue which I persuaded myself was ridiculous but you know it wasn't it was my choice. (Public rooms sounds pretentious but I mean not the kids bedrooms, they were age appropriate and very bright coloured).
The house over the road sold last year , it was open plan and completely grey and white - including the kids rooms. I felt I could not breathe looking at it. I like the New England colours now but I have just had the shower room done in seaside colours and the walls are Caribbean Sea. Edited at 08:38 AM. |
