Japan Airlines
Has anyone ever flown with Japan Airlines?
Just wondered what they were like? I have Avios to use and it seems you can use them with JAL as well as BA. I'm likely to be flying in Economy. |

Not for years, but they were excellent. Very often rated among the top airlines in the world. As long as the points exchange offering was decent, I would take JAL over BA any day.
Downside would probably be the luggage allowance, specifically cabin baggage. BA has a ridiculously generous allowance there. JAL is either 7 or 10kg from memory, very common allowance for Asian carriers. Not really an issue if you'll be checking a bag anyway but the higher allowance is nice when doing carry on only. Thanks both!
I will be checking a bag and then usually only take a small backpack as cabin baggage so no issue there. As for points, it's around 4000 more for an economy flight with JAL than BA which I'm prepared to do if it's worth it |

Have only done one trip to Japan but if you want to ask questions here to try and decide to work out if worth it, these people are the ones to ask :-)
