3 nights- dining report
A very quick trip for a family thing ( sorry re vagueness!).
Super excited for an extra trip, fitted in between work and school. M4 was fab for a change so we arrived in good time. We popped into the BA lounge. And I had my first : Edited at 11:11 AM. |

Sampled the champagne a few more times.
We all had some pastries, fruit and bacon muffins. The cinnamon swirl was delicious. There’s a full help yourself bar with some savoury snacks. We didn’t sample on this occasion- was a bit early (I did have 3 glasses of champagne though…) Overall the lounge (Terminal 5 south) was lovely but it was quite busy. |

Dh ordered pie and mash as an early lunch and I had a caramel slice to mop up the champagne.
Both very nice. I slightly swayed onto the plane and continued with the champagne theme. All very pleasant. |

This was the second food service - on the whole pretty good.
We generally book BA, service was good and friendly. We’re flying back AA, so interested to compare the 2. Was good to get away from the hustle and bustle in the lounge, all food and drinks were good quality. The toilets are very basic and need to be refurbished imo. Day 1 We just had a light breakfast. Tried a snickerdoodle cookie - which I thought would be nutty but was actually just cinnamon. I liked it but DH wasn’t keen. |

We had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. All nice as usual.
We shared a few dishes between us, calamari, chicken sliders and salads with soft drinks was $60 ish Sad no to cheesecake as we had early dinner booked. Didn’t really have time for shopping so prioritised bath and body works. $20 for 4 hand washes and $8 for 5 hand sanitisers. And Sephora, this little haul was $150 ish (can’t find the receipt at the mo). Edited at 11:11 AM. |

We had dinner at Del Frisco.
It was amazing, such a fabulous experience. We had a private area for 20 people. I couldn’t take many pics with without looking bonkers. So the first two are from Google. I had shanghai style calamari to start $20. This was by far the best calamari I have ever had, spicy, crunchy, very unique flavours. Huge portion, I didn’t finish by sheer will power as wanted my main and sides. Filet mignon $52, lobster mac and cheese and asparagus- we shared the sides but think they were on the region of $22 each. It was so good. Fabulous flavours, some of the sides were very rich so best shared. For dessert I had butterscotch cheesecake and it was the best cheesecake I have ever sampled (and I’ve tried a lot !). DH had chocolate mousse, which again had good feedback. Sorry I have no idea why some photos are at an angle. Such a fabulous evening. The bill was substantial, we had lots of lovely wine too though - it was around $3000- so $150 pp ish. |
