August 22 - Third time lucky pre-trip report

Hello everyone!

I thought now was a good time to do my pre-trip report for our upcoming trip in about 7 weeks. I’ve been really hesitant for ages to do one as I think like everyone else, I was just expecting it to be taken away again.
But now that testing has been dropped, I’m feeling a lot more confident (I’m trying to ignore the airport dramas at the moment) and I thought now was the time.

It’s just me (Lucy) and my husband Chris.

This is us looking very fancy for our best friends wedding last month 😁

We fly 4th August, Heathrow - Miami with BA and we’re back 19th August.
Travelling down to Heathrow day before and staying at The Thistle hotel, I’m quite excited to try one of the pods.

Flights were much cheaper into Miami at the time of booking, so we’re staying the night in the Miami airport hotel and then travelling up to Orlando the next day.

Plan wise, it’s my 30th birthday whilst we’re there and we have a 2 day Disney ticket for this. We’re at Epcot day before my birthday and HS day of my birthday, these are our 2 favourite parks. And then a night at the Yacht Club in between.

We have a weekend planned at Treasure Island and we’ve booked a little cottage on VRBO for this 🏝

We’re definitely not big park goers anymore (too expensive, stressful and tiring) so it will be just us making up for 2 years worth of lost trips, so lots of shopping and eating, sunbathing and pottering about.

Roll on the next 7 weeks 🤩

It's third time lucky for us too. It sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned 🙂 We're flying into Miami too and have booked an Everglades tour on the way up which I'm really looking forward to 🙂

Oh that sounds great! We were meant to do an Everglades tour in 2019 but it cancelled due to a hurricane 😞 so you never know, it might be on the cards!
You’re not far behind me countdown wise! Hope you have a fantastic time! ☺️
