Roseland peninsula

Not sure if anyone has ever been to this area of Cornwall but it is totally unspoilt - our first holiday for 21 years without children and it’s been fantastic.

If anyone has a caravan we did an overnight stop at Cheltenham racecourse and you pitch your van up in front of the grandstand overlooking the racecourse really nice.

Off to Malvern tomorrow so we will see what that’s like

The Roseland is a beautiful area, just across the Carrick Roads for us.

It is imho a little under utilised, particularly down towards Place House, St Antony lighthouse, the Fortifications and Portloe, probably because it takes a fair few miles of driving to get there.

Generally, I get the ferry from Falmouth to St Mawes, the tiny boat Ferry from St Mawes harbour to Place House and then walk it from there. The church behind Place House with the Crypts of the Naval Spry Family are fascinating!

A good read and with some decent links.

Portloe… one heck of a walk along the cliffs from St Anthony light!
