Which Gulf Coast?

From roughly Dunedin to Tierra Verde/Treasure Island/ St Petes and everywhere in between, where would you pick?
All pre teens and teens. Love sandy beaches, stuff to do, nice casual restaurants... and for me upmarket but also cheap

Oddly, I'm also looking at this area, we normally stop in Sarasota but fancy a change. We're a couple in our 30's though and will be staying for a fortnight.

I'm looking forward to spying on the responses to help as I'm struggling to know where is best!

We have stayed at the Bellweather Beach resort, but that was a few miles from St Pete’s. We loved it there. We are staying at the Marriott on Sand Key this year which is right next to Clearwater and has a mini tram to take you to the centre of things. We fancied being closer to lots of different restaurants this time. We also love the Johns Pass area, lots of shops, some nice restaurants including a Bubba Gumps, we spotted some dolphins there one evening, it’s a really lovely place to wander around.

Sand Key adjoins Clearwater?

Our spot on the Gulf Coast is Indian Shores; 3 trips a year there.
Gorgeous quiet beach with nice restaurants there and neighbouring Indian Rocks Beach.

We eat almost everywhere in the Gulf Coast area; some of our favourite restaurants are in Clearwater (both town and beach), Dunedin, Largo, St Pete's Beach, Seminole, Oldsmar, St Petersburg; all within an easy drive and a mix of budget & medium prices.

I don't think you can go wrong wherever you pick along the Gulf Coast.

Our first ever trip in 1990.

A week in Fantasy World on the 192 then a week here. The condo block roughly in the middle of the post card with a blue roof - can't recall the name . After years of caravans in Cornwall and France (which were all great) to have a condo with a gulf view from the front bedroom and the inter-coastal from the rear balcony. Nothing we'd ever experienced before.

I remember that Leverocks fish restaurant had about 6 locations nearby but down to one when we last stayed on the Gulf.

Our first visit to Indian Shores was 1996. We had the most amazing condo on the beach.

We went back with the kids in 2014 and it was just as perfect. Would love to go back again.

We love anything from St Pete’s beach up to Clearwater. We love John’s Pass and we always try and visit the Christmas Wonderland store just outside Clearwater. 😁🎄

Yes it does. We booked our room at the Marriott through BA and it was much cheaper. Apparently, the little land train takes you across the bridge and in Clearwater

Edited, because I’m going a bit stir crazy! Sand Key is by Clearwater, not St Pete, obviously

St Pete Beach isn't just "across the bridge". It's 18 miles and the trolley will take at least 50 minutes.
