Thanks for the info guys - I wouldn't have thought to get liquor over there, I usually don't check it out as it's kept in the smaller sub-store in the big supermarkets (some US legal thing I guess?)

Thanks all!

Smirnoff 1.75l plastic bottles in Walgreens across from Rosen Inn International were $26.99 each or 2 for $34 when we were there in June. Hope that price holds up for next month as I brought a good few back with us last time.

Just wish they did everything in plas bottles. Would be so easier to bring stuff home!

As an aside, I’ve been bringing back glass containers for about 25 years in suitcases. Never had a breakage. All of various sizes- small jars of sauce to 1.75ltrs of booze. Just pack with a bit of common sense.
I usually buy a roll each of bubble wrap and sticky tape in Walmart to wrap glass & china items and then pack carefully in the suitcase.

In Target last week, a 1.75 l bottle of Glenmorangie was $66, absolute bargain compared to duty free or supermarket shopping here.

I bought a bottle of red wine back from Fueteventura, I wrapped it in a plastic bag then in a towel. It got here safely.

If they do plastic bottles of Kraken cheap I reckon I'll be leaving the kid's clothes behind to make some space in the luggage!
