We always do. Get TSA locks or suitcases with them built in and they can open them if needed.

I've never locked a suitcase, ever. And as yet, have never had anything stolen from one.

My case is a number lock but also has a spot for a tsa key if they so wish to open it.

I have a TSA combination luggage strap because I lost the key to the padlock once and had to break it off and broke one of the end of the zip. It has been opened once, and an item I’d laid beautifully flat so it didn’t get creased (we’re talking a keepsake dinner menu that was personalised to us,) ended up creased and on top, when I’d laid it flat down the side, not happy. I know why they do it, but be respectful.

The luggage strap also helps identify the case.

I don't as I put all my valuables in my hand luggage. The only things that go in my suitcase are clothes, footwear and toiletries.

Never locked my cases, never lost anything. Nothing valuable ever goes in them anyway.

I don’t put anything of value in my cases..but I have TSA locks, because I don’t want my (not so) smalls travelling around the carousel.
