Trip/Accommodation for 10

Hello,

We are starting to plan our Californian trip for July/August 2023.

We are will be a party of 10, 6 adults and 4 teenagers who’ll be 17, 16, 16 and 15.

The current plan is 6 days in LA
3 days Disney
1 day Universal
1 day LA Tour with Emily
1 day beach

1-2 days down to San Diego perhaps via Palm Springs for the Aerial Tramway?

7 days San Diego
Coronado
Zoo
Sea World
USS Midway
Beach
Old Town State Park

3/4 days in Las Vegas

What do you think?

Also, any recommendations for accommodations? When we went to Florida we hired a large villa, that doesn’t seem to be the same though for California. Will we have to get hotels or are there other alternatives?

Any recommendations for hotels, restaurants, thing to see/do that I’ve not listed or seen will be very welcome 🤗

I’m working my way through the trip reports and making lists of any suggestions.

TIA

Any suggestions on what order to do the holiday in?

LA first?
Or last? Would you split it up and go to LA then SD, then LV then back to LA for a flight home and do 5 days in LA first then go back for 2 more days at the end?

Edited at 08:30 PM.

Short term rentals are pretty much frowned upon or indeed banned by some cities - even if you find an Airbnb there is a chance it won’t be there when you land or you get turned out - I think it is only available as a spare room in a main residence so hiring out a villa isn’t possible

Your plan sounds great - We are off soon and will do a week in LA followed by Palm Springs and San Diego as they are more restful

DIBB Villa Reviews: 1
There are 7 of us and we are in Vegas at the moment, we have a 3 bedroom suite in the Marriott Grand Chateau, it sleeps up to 12 with 2 rooms with a king bed, 1 room with 2 doubles and 2 lounges, each with a sofa bed in. It’s just off the strip and has 2 kitchens, 2 washing machines. We only arrived last night and haven’t seen the pools yet, but they are smaller than other hotels. Might be worth looking at.

Many larger hotels have suites with interconnecting rooms in California if that is what you are after -when we traveled as a family (some c10 years back now so may have changed ?) we had a 3 bedroom suite at Grand Californian with an additional interconnecting room so 4 bedrooms, living space and bathrooms to spare - worked out well for us.
