Exactly. One red flag for me is not having self check in. If the host insists on meeting you to bring you to the property, thats a big no for me. So many people have been scammed by being brought to a property which was not the property in the photos.

Also I will only stay in a property which is specifically for Airbnb. Many people on Airbnb rent out their actual home and when Airbnb tourists stay they move out to a friends house. I don't want to stay in someone's home, with all of their personal items.

And again, for the same reasons' I wont stay in a room in someones home. I want my own private space.

As someone with partner owns Airbnb in UK and abroad I have always wanted to buy one or 2 in California but manage from UK.

Amis has whetted my appetite for San Diego but as far as LA and Palm Springs (my favoured places as year Round trade) I am not permitted to own any short term rentals so watching this thread with great interest (as an investor )

Seriously always wanted to invest in property in Palm Springs - you maybe a friend in real estate but it seems more obstacles in renting out than others posters have mentioned but I will DM you if we are successful for sure !
