For anyone with a dishwasher …

Is stopping the dishwasher prior to the final heat only part of the programme a bad idea? I thought it would save a bit of electricity but I don’t know of anything negative.

Mine has a quick wash programme which doesn't do the final heat/dry cycle. The dishes come out clean but very wet.

I wouldnt know when to do that as mine is practically silent plus it may (?) confuse the electronic programmes selections ?
I think all my programmes, bar fines and hold, dry either by hot rinse or 2 hot air blow and that makes the dishes and glasses less streaky which I want so for me yep a bad idea

Check if it has a short cycle. Our's has a 29 minute cycle which washes the dishes perfectly and saves a few quid on electricity.

No, it shouldn't damage it. I've been doing this for years.

Almost never use the dishwasher here. Zero electricity cost.

Washing up and drying, is a return of the priceless social time that keyboards remove.

I thought dishwashers were quite more energy efficient these days compared to the ones from 10+ years ago but could be wrong.
