For budget, have a look at the NYNY. We’ve stayed twice there and it’s a decent hotel with great food options inside and now they have the garden area out the side as well. It’s got a great atmosphere as well.
If your able to, for cost reasons, avoid vegas on a thu, fri, sat as it’s much more expensive on these days.
This sounds perfect, thank you!
I was looking at the Luxor too, have you been to both? Do you have a preference?

I haven’t been to Luxor.
Been to the Sahara , but over 20 years ago and not really there any more, the Tropicana just after it had been refurbished. It was nice back then, Bellagio which was lovely, Palazzo a couple of times, great if you can get a good price, NYNY twice and once at Desert Rose which were good condos but im not sure I would go back. Also stayed 1 night at the Paris which was nice but we prefer NYNY over it.

We are currently on a road trip currently staying at the Sea Offer Inn I Cambria and will be staying at the Carriage Inn in Las Vegas. Yes it's off the Strip but only a few minutes walk. This will be our 3rd stay, it's so convenient for everything, no casino and no resort fees and very clean. They only take bookings a few months in advance as it's timeshare but w e paid $100 per night.

San Diego - we are also staying at the Best Western Island Palm on shelter Island again our 3rd visit.

I would recommend either of the above as well as the Tropicana in Anaheim.

Have fun - I love the planning stage

Yes I would definitely move from Anaheim in order to visit Hollywood / Universal. When we visited in January we spent a few days at the Universal City Hilton but then moved to Loews Hollywood. Definitely preferred the Loews, it was a nicer hotel and the location didn’t feel quite as isolated as the Hilton (we didn’t have a car) although it is certainly not a salubrious location. In the past when we have visited LA, we have stayed in Beverly Hills.

I prefer to stay on the Strip for Vegas, not really because of distance, because it can be a long walk between even two neighbouring hotels on the strip as they are that big, I just like the atmosphere. Another one to consider is New York New York, it often has very good rates, I haven’t stayed there but one year we went with the in-laws and they stayed there whilst we stayed elsewhere (didn’t want to be in each other’s pockets) and they loved it, we also enjoy visiting that one.

Never been to San Diego so pass on that.
