Florida in October 2022

Hi everyone

I thought that I would try and write about our trip to Florida this year so I’ll start with a whose who and how it all came about.

I am Kirsty (48) and I am the organiser and chief planner. My husband Steve (49) is the very hard working man who pays for all the holibobs. Our eldest JJ (25 but turns 26 whilst in Florida) He is looking forward to this trip as he hasn’t been to Disney since 2015, his last holiday paid for by us. Our youngest Tyler (21) last came with us in 2019 (his last holiday paid for by us) and his girlfriend Immy (21) who has never been to Florida.

This originally started out as a week away for me and DH in March 2020 - Who new COVID would turn everything upside down. We changed it to September 2020 for 2 weeks with Tyler tagging along for a week. That again changed to May 2021 for 2 weeks with Tyler and Immy now coming but still for the week. When that one didn’t happen, we changed it to October 2022 as surely COVID would be over by then By changing it, we decided that we wanted to do 3 weeks and then JJ said he wanted to come now. We now have myself and Steve going for 3 weeks and JJ, Ty & Immy for 2 weeks flying out on the same flight as us.

We are staying at VistaCay resort which is a resort that we have not stayed at before but really like the look of and location. We have a 3 bedroom platinum condo so we’ll have plenty of space. We fly out of Heathrow on the 13th October and over the last year have been in full planning mode, especially now that travel is back on.

As this will be e Immy’s first visit to Florida we have asked her to take a look at what she wants to do as we have been travelling since 2004 and although we say we’re seasoned Florida travellers, there is always something new to see, do and experience. Our pace around the parks will be slower so that Immy can take it all in and you never know, we might see something that we never have before.

We have lots of plans and our itinerary is gathering speed as we do like to make the most of our time on holiday. Our plans include; Disney, Universal, Halloween Horror night at Universal, Discovery Cove, Kayaking at Rock Springs to name a few. Whilst away, Steve and I will celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and JJ will turn 26. Our first ever trip to Florida back in 2004 JJ had his 8th birthday swimming with the dolphins at Discovery Cove
