Thanks, that seemed to work for me this week as arms not burnt but I do think DD didn’t apply it right, something she’ll have to do properly next year.
Thanks again.

Lancaster is brilliant for me (and smells beautiful). I have fair freckled skin too, I was recommended it and have never looked elsewhere since I tried it.

I'm ginger, pale & freckly
Factor 50 Ambre solaire dry mist for me. Factor 15 blocks UVB 93% Factor 30. 97% Factor 50 98% Waterproof sunscreen makes prickly heat worse As you see only 1% extra protection between the cheaper 30% and the more expensive 98%. Better to buy the 30 and apply generously than scrimp with the costly 50. UVB which causes burning UVA causes ageing (short UVA also causes burning). Burning increases skin cancer risk. It's important to choose a broad spectrum sunscreen. Apply 30 mins before sun exposure Reapply every 2 hrs Apply generously, most people don't apply enough. 6 teaspoons will be required per adult to exposed areas , more if in swimwear. Or save the stress & buy sun blocker clothing but that's expensive I have a sunblock hat. Sorry for the long post, lost a friend to melanoma, taken way to young (53). |

Ultrasun 30 my husband uses who burns easily. You need to apply at least 30 minutes before going out in the sun and put a good layer on. He still tops up regularly too Eve though it’s once a day

You need to look at the little circle with stars in on the bottles...5 stars give the best protection from the sun. Some of the cheaper brands eg tesco own range have 5 stars whereas some of the more expensive brands only give 3 or 4 star protection!
We always use tesco own brand and 2 of my kids are fair skinned and they're fine with it.

We use ultrasun too, my son has to be careful as he is high risk for skin cancer and he took it to a festival during the last hot spell and didn’t burn. Also took my red haired niece to the seaside and used it on her with no issues. We buy the factor 50.

I just had a little nosey on Amazon for Ultrasun 30. Flippin 'eck it's pricey, anyone know of any offers for it or where best to buy it? Also, is it the sports gel or cream/lotion that's recommended? Not planning on swimming so I'm guessing cream/lotion for general use 🤔
I'm thinking of trying the 30spf. |

Always worth looking on qvc for uktrasun. They do special offers throughout the year on bundles.

Yep, def pricey. I think it's added £150 to our trip cost this year.
Worth it though. We have the sports spray, the face stuff and something else too. Not very useful, sorry, but as i say, always worth it, as these trips aren't cheap, so don't want to ruin it by scimping on Sun cream. Used to use P20. Also pricey, but never burnt. Going for Ultra Sun as got a little fed up P20 staining stuff.

Thanks both, I'll have a nosey on qvc.
I'm going to quote don't scrimp on sunscreen when so much spent on the holiday to DH if he complains at how much I spend 😉 🤣 |
