Has anyone taken silica gel packs in the luggage?
Are they ok to take on a place? In the hold?

We take a small insulated soft-sided lunch box with us (about the size of a thickish paperback book) and have a freezable gel pack which fits inside. It goes in hold luggage and have never had any problems.

The only thing to mind is pressurisation - I have had a resolve deodorants explode in the hold and many times some of my moisturisers have leaked due to the pressure so I would risk mitigate and wrap them in an old towel then in a sealed plastic bag
