Very confused 1 day ticket to HS.. Help

Hi, please can anyone help me as l am very confused. 😕 My daughter and her boyfriend have bought one day tickets for Hollywood studies on 21st August. We are off site in a villa. He is desperate to do the Star wars rides as he is a huge fan. I have tried to research the best way for them to make the most of the day but am still unsure whether they need to purchase lightning lanes or Genie plus, be in virtual queue at 7am etc. Please help as l desperately want them to have the best day that they can! Thank you 😊

Hi , an individual lightening lane for rise of resistance and then genie plus purchase for the rest of the rides at the park (or else they could just use traditional queue)

Have they made the park reservations for Hollywood studios on the Disney website?

HS and MK seen to be the parks that fill up first. A lot of our holiday HS was unavailable to book.

We have booked HS for 1 day for the Star Wars attractions and after researching for ages have currently decided this plan of action.

Genie+ for the day, booking our rides from 7am. We won't attempt rope drop as we have seen that ROTR is crazy busy straight after park opening, especially with EMH guests and then drops off lunchtime and towards park closing. We will then do as many rides as possible on Genie+ stacking as we go and monitor queue times for ROTR with an option of deciding on ILL when we get there.

ROTR goes down ALOT from what we have seen, especially when inclement weather is around, so we thought just chancing a normal queue towards park closing may be better than getting an ILL that may have bad timing re weather etc

We couldn't find a Failsafe plan, even when spending money to try and secure getting on the ride, so trying this for now x

I second this plan - it's exactly what we did. For us it was well worth paying for the ILL for RotR, and we managed to do everything else with Genie+

I hope they have an amazing time - I loved Hollywood Studios this time and RotR is absolutely worth paying for ILL!

Ok just pointing out that the OP's DD BF isn't going to be booking Rise ILL at 07:00, they are offsite & if it's still as busy then no chance at 09:00 so I would get them to plan on staying late (as in near closing) to ride Rise or be willing to queue for it!

There is no virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance (ROTR) nor any other Star Wars ride at HS.

If they are offsite then they’ll have to wait until the park opening time until they can book an Individual Lightning Lane for ROTR. Opening time of HS is 8:30am, so they will be able to try and book ROTR at 8:30am (not 9am nor 7am). However, onsite guests may have already fully booked this ride.

All the other rides are included with Genie+. They can buy this on the day. They can then book their first Genie+ ride of the day at 7am. They will then be able to book another Genie+ ride either after they’ve used their first one or 2 hours after park opening, whichever comes first.

As mentioned above, getting an Individual Lightning Lane for ROTR as an offsite guests might be difficult. Therefore they should visit in the evening until the end of the day when the regular queue reduces. But for the other Star Wars rides, consider buying Genie+.

best time to ride SW is after 8pm *without LL of course. Buuuuut, you run the risk of RotR being down, this happens quite a bit.
