August Weather

Got to ask is it always so cloudy? We have been here for about 9 days now and the skies have majority of the day been overcast. Just wondering is this the norm?

We've always found in August it's clearish until about lunchtime, then overcast/thunder/rain in the afternoon. We always try to plan around that!

We usually visit in July and August due to school holidays. This is average weather - I have had much worse in August ( days of tropical storms and cloud).

Best to avoid the rainy season ( June - mid Oct) if you can.

Same here. Any sunbathing needs to be done before lunchtime otherwise no point as it will be cloudy/wet.

Also best to hit the swimming pool before lunch. Been kicked out several times when the thunderstorms start rolling in!

I always go in August, clear sunny skies from 6am until about 3pm, then clouds roll in with intermittent storms and rain until 7pm then clear again with the occasional storm coming in around 10pm. Given August is peak hurricane season, storms are to be expected.

We’ve just got back from a 3 week July/ August break. We have at least 1 week of solid sun with no thunderstorms and then after that lovely weather in the morning and the thunderstorms and cloud moved in from about 1400. Thankfully never had a full day of rain. Would definitely return this time of year. Previously always been to Florida over Easter.

I'm here now and I was definitely expecting worse heat wise. Don't get me wrong it's bloody warm, but it's more manageable than at home recently. Air con everywhere. I'm sat out now rather than sitting in the air con indoors. Today was lovely till about 1pm, then short shower then mainly overcast with plenty of cloud since. Was by the pool at 9am so had a good 3/4 hrs sunning this morning. Current view looks okay to me

I mentioned this to my DH today, it is more overcast than any other trip that I can remember. I think it then doesn’t feel quite so hot but it isn’t as fun for sunbaking!
