Leaving MK after fireworks
Hi all, we’re here now and all going well, our son has asd and we’re managing the parks with short days and regular breaks. We have planned to do MK on Wednesday evening next hoping to stay for fireworks, he’ll manage that with ear defenders and would enjoy it but I’m worried about leaving the park afterwards as I know lines for ferry and monorail can get very long. Long lines and waiting are difficult and Previously my self and another ds were over an hour waiting for ferry after fireworks and I know this would be near impossible. We have the DAS which is great but I’d love to know is there something we can do leaving the park ? Thanks in advance xx

The only thing you can do to avoid the crowds is stay put and wait for them to clear. My daughter has ASD and uses a wheelchair. We have watched the MK fireworks from the ferry dock on the carpark side or the train station in MK to avoid the worst of the crowds but you can not see the castle projections.
We rarely watch them at all at MK due to the crowds and hassle getting to the car. We actually find HS and EPCOT fireworks much easier to do because of this. It is so much easier leaving afterwards you might want to try one of these first.

How about standing right at the back sort of under the railway bit and getting a Minnie Van as a treat from the MK to your hotel as soon as they finish. You can be one of the first out of the park. It will be crowded but with a Minnie van ordered and hopefully waiting for you, it might be doable.

Thanks all, we’re staying offsite so will be heading to car. I think what we’ll do is try to catch the projections from castle end of Main Street and then head towards ferry and we’ll see the fireworks from there. We’ll leave the park before the end 😀 He’s been so good and we’ve managed to do a lot really. Today we’re having a nice rest day, no parks, no shops(which he hates) lots of pool time and heading to AK tomorrow evening and he loves that, dinosaurs and animals 😀 xx

The other option is to hang around in park, do some shop and spend the hour you would be queuing just browsing and then get ferry, but obviously you will be much later getting back.
We tend to watch fireworks from outside parks so we are away before the crowds |

Take the resort monorail instead, it's usually a much shorter queue and still goes to the car park

If u want to see the fireworks without the projections watch from the beach at the poly they pipe the music in and my asd son loved the sand.
U can walk from poly to ttc easily to avoid crowds. There is a roped off disabled area u can access with a das but its still v crowded x |

Hi don’t head to the exit after fireworks find a seat and wait or go for a drink wait a while then when you can see quite head out. We done this we never go out with all the crowds.
