Boat hire

We are staying in Naples for 12 nights in the summer. We did plan to hire a boat whilst here last year but ended up running out of time. So with plenty time this year I wondered if anyone may have hired a boat and can recommend any company?

We have a small row type boat at home with an outboard motor so have a little experience on being on the water but any advice would be great.

I did get some information from the lady who we have hired our villa through which does recommend someone called Chuck at Gulfshore Watercraft Rentals but I can't see anything online about them. Their phone number begins with 262 which is puzzling me.

Anyway all we wanted was a small boat with an engine and possibly a bit of cover. I'd love to explore some of the beaches round Marco Island and have lunch on a deserted beach.

We hired one from here when we stayed at the Hyatt House Hotel on 5th Avenue, nice modern boats and a nice day on the river.

We hired a lovely chaparral from Punta Gorda a few years ago and visited cabbage key and captiva. You do need to stick closely to the intracoastal and charts though, we have boats and still found ourselves on zero depth over a coral bed with no warning. We were lucky but could have been a very expensive day out. As it was we used a huge amount of gas, great fun though.

Thanks for this. Looks ideal, just what we're looking for and just along from Lely where we are staying.

Yes, DH will be careful. He has some experience with boats over the years

We used extremefamilyfunspot a couple of years ago and they were very good. I used a groupon so look online for such before you go.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve managed to book a full day through groupon for $117 plus $90 for fuel and 6% sales tax. Just need to phone them to book a day. Had to put a US zip code in to pay as its through groupon USA site.
