Hertz at MCO
Hi all,
I’ve done a google and Dibb search and can’t seem to find the answer, so I’m hoping someone here will have knowledge or experience. H has Hertz Gold Rewards, we’ve hired a car with them for next year. Their website talks about being able to go straight to the garage at some locations if you have gold rewards, is MCO one of them? I read on the website that spouses are covered for free with gold rewards, but another part of the website says it’s only at California and Iowa. Can anyone confirm if spouses are covered in Florida? Thanks in advance for any assistance. x

Certain states such as California have to include an additional driver as standard due to legal requirements. Elsewhere they tend to just have one driver, unless you have the booking connected with your gold rewards and then it includes an additional driver (spouse) - hertz/rentacar/misc/...U_GPR_FAQs.jsp

I have used Hertz only once, but the guy at the checkout booth confirmed to me that as a Gold member the good lady was covered automatically by the insurance as I like you had read the California, Iowa position.
As it was never intended for her to drive I wasn’t particularly worried, but it is always nice to have the option just in case. PS, I am sure somebody here (Tom Morrow perhaps) and will give definitive confirmation soon?

Thanks all.
I got confused as the confirmation said standard counter so I wasn’t sure if we needed to go to the desk in the airport or not! x

If it says standard counter you don’t go straight to garage, you go to the normal check in desk. Is it the case this is first booking through gold, if so then that is why you have standard counter. Maybe contact Hertz and check gold is linked to booking.

My paper work said the same thing but was told in the main counter area by a Hertz employee to go straight to the gold members desk in the garage and it was my first time using Hertz. I was picking up a prestige car if that makes any difference but don’t think it matters. Booked it when it was cheaper to book than a standard car.
