1 night hotel stay cancelling dining plan at main resort?

We're staying at CBR for 2 weeks with the qsdp. We've also got a 1 night stay at the BC and WL, booked with DVC points. They're all linked to my MDE account. Obviously, we won't be checking out of CBR when we have these 1 night stays, but we will effectively be checked in to 2 rooms at once. I read on another thread that this will cancel our dining plan 😮 and it's best to link the single nights to a separate MDE account.

Can anyone that's done this please share if they had all reservations linked to the same account and if there were any issues with their dining plan please.

I'm pretty sure I've heard the same advice as you're suggesting (seperate MDE account) on a podcast from a US based travel agency.
I recall it being related to the IT systems poorly handling you being in 2 places at once. It wasn't specific to dining plan loss, but it could certainly be a symptom.

Try and contact the IT desk for MDE, as they will be far more aware of the issues caused by double booking than the average cast members will.

Thanks. That's a good idea about contacting IT
If it is the case, I'm hoping I can un-link the reservations from my main account!

It’s amazing that they have the systems in place to only allow fast passes for some days and make dumbo fly yet something like this doesn’t work

The easiest way would have been not to link the DVC stay in the first place. You can book any accommodation without having a MDE account, you only really need it to make fastpasss anyway, everything else can be done on its own.

Yes, hindsight is a great thing but at the time I didn't realise it could potentially cause an issue. Plus I like to do online check in and choose extra magic bands which can't be done without linking.

Not exactly the same - but we moved from one Disney hotel to another on a previous trip and were told we didn't need to check out of the first one as it would happen automatically.

Got to the 2nd hotel and couldn't check in until they had manually checked us out of the previous one...! The Disney systems definitely struggle with more than one reservation on the same account at the same time.

Thank you. That's helpful to know, so I think I'll set up a second account and give Disney IT a call on Monday if I can't unlink the reservations from my existing account. It never even occured to me that it could be a problem.
