Mobile What month for The Keys?

I’ve been hearing a lot about September not being ideal for a road trip down The Keys due to rain and hurricane season. Can anyone tell me if October is any better?

Many thanks

April May has worked for us. Not a cloud in the sky, hot and no wind. Temperatures were perfect and a walk on the old 7 mile bridge was a highlight of the whole vacation.

I’ve been twice in late Jan and early Feb - both in the early to mid 80sF, no rain or clouds. Perfect road trip time plus you escape the worst time of year here.

Rained every day for us last May whereas September was amazing. October would be good but that’s the start of the very expensive season hotel wise. Also avoid Key West during Fantasyfest at the end of October unless you’re a very open minded couple lol

We've gone the week after Christmas and had beautiful weather (80's) when the Orlando area was hovering around freezing. A lot of beaches were empty because the water temperature was in the 75-80 degree range and considered cold to the locals. My northern New England raised children thought it was bath water.

We thought the weather was great for outdoor activities and I don't recall too many bugs.

The hurricane season lasts from the 1 June to 30 November. Rain showers are just pot luck on the day.

My grandparents accidentally went to Key West when it was Fantasy Fest!

They luckily have a great sense of humour!

We were just there, May 18/19 and it was astonishingly hot, too hot for me at times. We saw an electrical storm that didn’t convert into any rain one night, otherwise some may find it a perfect time to be there
