Mobile How to plan Vegas strip

We are family of 2adults and 1 twelve year old and one 14 year old. We have a couple days to look at the hotels (lots planned for the rest of the time hop on hop off, a show, zipline, high roller to name a few) just looking for advice for how long people plan for wondering around the hotels. It will be August so obviously really hot. Thanks for any advice.

It’s as long or as little as you like p, I advise going up stratosphere first night as it helps with you bearings. We have been loads of times but took 9year old DD last year for the first time had one night with friends and 2 at park mgm we spent a lot of that wandering the strip and still did not get to visit ant on the east side of the strip south of wynn

Bearing in mind that you won’t be able to go into certain areas with under 21s (casino floor, bars etc) it shouldn’t take you that long at all, and there are probably some you can skip altogether

Bellagio you’ll probably want to see the fountain show and conservatory, other than that I think it’s just shops inside.
Venetian would be good for a
wonder around as there’s plenty to see inside (even if it is around shops)

I don’t recall (someone please correct me if I’m wrong) there being anything to see other than casino floors or bars in Cosmopolitan & Planet Hollywood as they’re not really themed?

You can probably use google to pick and choose which ones you think would be worth you going in which would cut back on time

It's a lot of walking between hotels. Took us 20 mins just to get from Bellagio to Hard Rock Cafe and it wasn't that hot or busy. Plan your routes carefully as it takes a lot longer than you think to get anywhere

That’s a good point especially in the heat. We turned back on our first night because what looked close to us wasn’t. Also had a funny moment in the Walgreens queue when a fellow Brit came in wearing jeans and asked the cashier for a loan of a scissors and then proceeded to cut off the legs of her trousers 🤣 She had also underestimated the distance back to her hotel and the heat.

Thats the one thing I tell all my friends. Places look as though they are 10 mins away and in reality they take much longer. We always do the strip in sections, south, middle, and north to try and minimize walking so far and make use of the free monorail from Bellagio to save our legs a little!

We went in Feb this year so obviously didn’t have the heat but I echo above that the distances between hotels is vast, I’m sure it took me nearly 15 minutes just to walk past the front of Caesars Palace!
I would split the strip into sections maybe with the Bellagio as your mid point. Not to miss the fountains, the Volcano show at the Mirage, the shops in the Venetian and flamingos in the Flamingo (obvs!)

That’s why I think mid strip or near is a good base. I love Mandalay Bay rooms but it is so far south on the strip it’s such a hike for us everyday to get to places. We often switch hotels after a few days, for easier access if we are going for a longer period of time. Can you remember me saying to you about how long it takes to walk to places? Lol. Don’t think you realize until you actually experience it do you?

Hi Jo yes I do remember, you just don’t believe it until you’re actually there. On the map everything looks so close together but in reality it’s vast!

Under 21’s are permitted on the casino floor but they can only stop at certain places we walked though all the casinos with my 9 year old and the only problem we had was when she had to wait at the side of the players booth at Mandalay Bay when I got the shark reef tickets
