Again if its because you cant get insurance speak to a specialist not a web firm there are some of these guys in every town.

As far as using an agent I think the problem with the contact is not about not using an agent but by not using a major airline over the years we have had to moved one virgin flight because my sister came down from Leeds with no passport and there was no issue, cancel virgin flights as my mum (who was nit even travelling with us) was not well and got 100% back and BA moved some flights back when we found my wife to be pregnant. I have never had an issue contacting a major airline so dont write it off.

Anyway good luck and I hope things work out for you

From reading your other threads on travel insurance / pre existing conditions and your son, I would suggest getting the diagnosis sorted and fully confirmed as there seems to be confusion, then you should be able to sort the insurance situation and be good to go, even if a quick private consulation which would be much cheaper than potentially losing your holiday. Explain to the consultant the situation and need for confirmed diagnosis that ties into the insurers requirements.

Dont write it off just yet, I had an undiagnosed condition which wasnt sorted until under a week before travel so I feel your nervousness and reluctance to continue. Once diagnosed insurance is then simple to sort (depending on severity of course).

Thank you. We have spoken extensively with travel insurance and whilst I can get travel insurance I cannot get cover for my long list of pre-existing medical conditions. Some of them would have no effect on travel, but a couple of them could (unlikely) but could and it is just not worth the risk. I have therefore given up. Something is telling us not to go.

Travel insurance is a minefield and I have learned a lot.

Though if it is something that you didn't declare to them when you bought it then they didn't fail.
You are right, the travel insurance company did not fail but the insurance failed to cover me. I am not apportioning blame to the travel insurance company.

It is my fault, but it was something I was not aware of, as I would certainly not have left it until five days before travel before bringing it to anybody's attention.

Sadly a mistake was made by unbeknown by myself resulting in us losing our holiday.

I'm not sure what the issue is but, if it's because an insurer won't cover one of your diagnosed illnesses, it would still be worth trying brokers before giving up. I have an illness that a lot of insurers won't cover but managed to find a good policy with Axa. I was also nicely surprised by the cost which wasn't overboard.

If you cant go due to illness try explaining that to to - you may not be able to cancel but maybe they would let you change it, perhaps a later date and a destination closer to home.
