When we wouldn't do something, my Mum used to say *I'm giving you the gypsies warning!* dunno what that meant but we always did what she wanted then!

Also my uncle used to stand in front of the fire and when my Grandma asked what he was doing he used to reply *warming the hole (whole) of my body!)

Another fire one *move away from the fire or you'll get corn beef legs!*

When we were kids Mum and Dad used to pitch a fit if we played out side with bare feet. “Put your bloody socks and shoes on you aren’t members of the. Black Foot Tribe!” was the exclamation.
