Declaring food

Hi, just after some help/info.
I'm going to do an order to Boots and collect at the airport as my baby daughter has a milk allergy and want to take some food with us, so I haven't got to worry. I just want to know if I have to declare this ?

We normally take some cereal bars, always declare them. It�s not worth the risk

Just to add though that we haven't seen a customs form flying into MCO for maybe 2 or 3 years and the automated kiosks were removed sometime in 2018.

So in practice the only time you'll be asked is by the IO

You'll see that cereal, granola bars and the like are OK but make sure you declare if asked.

I apply this rule of thumb... "If it goes in your mouth, it's food" so always declare it, and wait for a wry smile from an IO saying "we sell this here" ! better safe than sorry ..

We get the "you can get that stuff here sir" every time we declare coffee.

Better a sarcastic comment than the risk of a $10,000 fine I say. And yes I do know they have shops in Florida - although I'm sure that I'll be reminded soon.

When we landed in November there was no food declaration part. The suitcase that had our bits in (hubby coeliac so took him some snacks) came last as they must have gone thru it.

Those cute little beagles with "Do not pet" jackets on are trained to sniff out more than drugs. They can detect an apple core at 50 yards.

I have no proof but maybe they roam around the incoming luggage before it gets to the carousel.
