Ours is south facing but we always have it on as I do like a lovely warm pool. Our usual times to visit are May/June and anytime from late September through October and in to November.

TBH it is personal preference and what is right for one may not be right for others. It will always feel warmer than an hotel pool. Just depends how warm you like it, maybe you can speak to the owner to see about deciding one you get there.

We went may/june last year, we didnt have pool heat at they wanted £450 for two weeks! My girls (9and 7) were in the pool all the time, i only went in a few times, if it was warmer would have gone in more, i would say, if they are only charging something like £100 i would heat it, and you could use it early mornings and evenings, but otherwise dont bother

Wow £450! that is expensive we have a larger than average pool and charge £99 per week which about the average cost for owner operated homes. Was that a tour operator they are notorious for overcharging on pool heat.

We went late Oct/early Nov and had the pool heated for the most part of our 14 days. The kids didn't mind it being on the chilly side but us adults preferred to have it a bit warmer

I would not have the heat on, it is after all an outdoor pool. In the past we have had it on but ended up turning it off as the water is so hot. It is personal preference though.

Personal preference and whether you want to spend the extra money on it. Think £450 for pool heat is a little excessive how much water are they heating up.

Thank you all for the posts. Thinking I may well just do the big toe test when we get there and if needed then pay MC to out it on.

Does anyone know how long it would take to heat up?
