On another thread someone has said Virgin are leaving seats between groups. I would've thought that on most flights there'd be a lot of people cancelling and enough seats but they probably don't want everyone changing their own seat online especially if they are allocating "barrier" seating.

We are due to fly on August 18th from Gatwick and return on Sep 1st.

The Virgin app has update this morning and we are now flying LHR and the plane is a 787.

Can't choose seats yet though?

Just need to be let into the country now!

Ahh yes the small matter of actually being able to enter the country

We are 9th-23rd October from MAN and this morning have been moved onto A330-300. Although strangely our booking is showing us flying on VS73 and VS75 outbound and VS 74 and VS76 inbound. Maybe me and DW are going separately?!

I have a feeling they have bumped us onto the early flight for both outbound and inbound and will only be running that. Seat map only available for VS75 and VS76. Larger UC cabin. Miss those old 747 UC cabins!

As others have said, let's hope we can get in!

We travel out on Oct 5th and flight is still VS 75, but now on A330-300, quite happy with where they’ve seated us as if no one in front and no one behind we’re placed on left of aircraft PE and second row back.

They’ve mentioned change of aircraft for return, it’s still VS 76 but its on twice, the original which is same time but aircraft is blank, then the second which is A330-300 and our seats seem to be the same number as they were in the bubble but obviously downstairs, now we have seats behind us. It also states multistop but doesn’t give details and flight departure is an hour earlier

Bearing in mind that we have changed from a 747-400 with 455 seats to a 787-9 with 264 seats, so hopefully there is at least 191 people who are not travelling

We are a group of six and have got 2 rows of three, which ironically is not ideal for us, but it is what it is.

I cannot change seats, even between ourselves, and the only seats showing as spare are the two rows of three exit seats, 53A-53C and 53H-53K.

Yes that is a lot of cancellations needed for a 787 flight. I would've thought it's going to be more of an issue in September onwards when people are less hesitant to travel and see positive reports from the parks.

On a search on the Virgin Atlantic flight is says our flight is changed to Heathrow on the Dreamliner, however we have not been assigned this on our booking (on the website or the app!). Not sure if we should be worried as someone has said there are 191 less seats?!?
