I get where your coming from , but your dd needs to realize that staying in her room is only part of the problem, the party goers may well be using her cups plates, plus using the bathroom etc. I know my son isn't happy when his flatmates suggest get together etc, he does voice his objections, then is accused if being a drama queen. I know when josh was in student accommodation, he only had to phone the front desk(manned 24 hrs a day ), and they would be round checking it out. Imsure you could always phone and just ask for some advice in what the correct procedure is regarding the get to gethers, xx

She needs to report it - I was bullied by my flat mates for the whole first year of Uni. I then spent two years driving to uni - Somerset to London 4x a week. So I know exactly what it’s like not to get on with your flat mates well.
As mum, I wouldn’t do it. It needs to be your daughter first.

Thank you, I was just looking this up. So when it happens again I will call them, dd won’t get involved. She doesn’t want to be a snitch, they can then do with the info as they please. If the halls go into a Lockdown I'm bringing dd home to quarantine, she will stay in her room here rather than there. I’m not having her punished for something she was involved in, I’m beginning to wonder why she bothered to go at all this year!

I'm not sure you can report it. You are not there. Everyone involved is over 18 and responsible for their (irresponsible) choices. There will be security who are policing. Unis encourage the students to stand on their own two feet so may well not take your word.
It's a worrying time for us uni-kid parents ... have we put enough sense into a kids to act responsibly?! We all hope so! |

You said your daughter was let in by a complete stranger? If thats the case then that alone should be reported, if anything goes missing who is to know how/why I would report that fact alone personally.
I find the whole thing terrible to be honest, if any/all of those kids get C19 and take it home how many more people are going to come down with it! The rest of us trying to do our best & shield those who need shielding and others would seem not to give a stuff! I'm with you Sandra and I would report it myself, hearsay or not, at least someone is in a position to investigate it is informed then.

Personally I wouldn’t report it. Both of mine experienced anti social behaviour in Halls and collectively with friends/like minded fellow students reported it themselves.
