You are describing a nice evening at Cocoa Beach Sea Aire Motel, you have rooms facing the Ocean with lazy chairs, BBQS and kitchennettes. We just love it there!

For sunsets over the water you need to go to a gulf coast beach-the sun sets in the west. On the ocean side, you will see sunrises over the beach.

The gulf coast has calmer waters, the ocean coast more waves.

There are loads of activities all over the place. You mentioned kayaking. Check out the state parks..

We have stayed in Bradenton and explored that area which was lovely, sitting on Anna Maria island Watching the sunset after eating at the sandbar was amazing. We stayed in Cape Coral and had a beautiful villa On the water and loads of kayaks going past and boats. I would love to do a holiday just on the coast without any parks
My aunt lives in Cocoa which is lovely but I haven’t been in a while!

We have spent a fair amount of time over the years on Longboat Key. Only 2 hours from Disney, incredible beaches, relaxed atmosphere and not as busy as Clearwater/Naples etc. If you want a complete change of pace from Orlando, the Longboat/Anna Maria stretch is lovely.
