I guess it was only time that SD return policy filterrd through to HOF, no cash/card refunds at all. Only exchange ang credit nore. This seems very unfair as you cannot try anything on ATM, so I'm guessing people wont be making large/expensive clothes purchases as credit note might not be much use. Poor shop assistant is not looking forward to the next few weeks, shes expecting a few unhappy customers. For me, it just means i will shop elsewhere unless its a considered purchade and im 100% sure it is what I want.

I gave up with HOF for this very reason. I am sad to hear that SD are following the same route (thanks Mike Ashley) so I will more than likely shop elsewhere for my sons sportswear

I lioved HOF, especially their bags and bedding, you could pick up some great buys. Jyst neex to be careful now on my purchases, x

I agree on the bags - they stock the cheapest designer bags in London especially Michael Kors as every time a female comes to visit me they want to heat to Army and Navy to buy one or more but they gentleman clothes are frumpy like M&S . I dont think they will be around long on our high streets

I was in the HOF in Carlisle. Racks and racks of clothing, no store assistants, nobody buying anything. It can't last.

That's the House of Frazer off my store list now. Thank's for posting as I was about to order Christmas presents from them. Shame it used to be a fab store .

It's processes like this that make you wonder if the ultimate aim from Ashley is to put it out of business. The amount he'd gain in write-off losses would be massive, probably more than he makes in profit from HOS at the moment

To be fair to Ashley (a phrase I never thought I'd type). House of Fraser hasn't been a fab store this side of the millenium

we are not entitled to a refund unless goods are faulty so shops that offer a refund do so out of goodwill.

You are correct, however it is commercial suicide not to offer that goodwill refund when all your competitors are offering it
