Cost of pool heat...
Hi
We've booked a package holiday with a villa, the villa is allocated on arrival in Orlando. I called the travel agent yesterday and asked about pool heat, they rang back saying it would be £426 for the fortnight my brother, who is also coming, seems to think we can order it once we arrive direct from the owner of the villa and it will be far cheaper...does anyone know if this is the case and if so, roughly how much will it be? Thanks

Tour operators notoriously overcharge for pool heat that is more than double what we charge and we have a larger than average pool.
You may be able to arrange once there if there is information in the villa for the local managenent company. You are not likely to have contact info for the owner. It will take around 24 hrs for the heat to come up to temp. We have it switched on the day before arrival so it is already warm when guests arrive. Only way for you to have that wiuld be to pay the tour operators robber prices. Alison Edited at 11:36 PM. Reason: Spelling |

That is a really expensive price. I would go back and tell them that you know that to be way over the odds. Remember pool heat costs the tour operator nothing and you know that the owner is not getting that money transferred to them.
As Alison says, you may well save money by paying when you get there, however there will be a day when the pool will be cool. I think that you may find you can pretty much halve that cost. |

Hi
we charge £100 per week and our pool guy says we have a larger than average pool. As long as there are contact detsils at the home you should be able to have it put on when you arrive. it will take a day or two to heat up and you may have to pay a callout charge to have it turned on Rob |

Ridiculous charge...£100 per week is about the norm for most pools, which is probably what the owner will get out of it.

If he is lucky!
The TO take their cut , then the manco, and probably anybody else who can claim an interest When you get there contact the owner of you can (there may be info in the villa) and then the manco who should be able to turn on for you You may be asked to pay in $ You will ony need a day or two depending on time of year and weather, and can easily amuse yourselves those first days at the parks and getting in the first shop! Good luck with all!

That is terrible and I canguarantee the owner will not be receiving even half of that amount, this is what tour operators do, theycharge a fortune and this is how they make so much profit and the owners who take tour operator bookings are left with very little
We charge £100 per week pool heating sandra |

My cousin owns the villa we stayed in and the cost for pool heating quoted by the manco was £125 per week. Depending on when you go, don't bother. We didn't t get it on cuz's advice and the pool temperature was lovely. Leaving today 😞

The OP will probably find they want the pool heat in October. We always visit the 2nd half of the month and wouldn't get in the pool without it even although ours is south facing. OP you could wait until you are there or challenge the tour company on the ridiculous price they are quoting you.
