Do these ticket prices seem right?
My son and his girlfriend are about to pay for their 14 day disney and universal tickets which are £625, and they just checked and said in September 2017 they paid £491 for the same tickets. I have disagreed and said they've made a mistake.
Can anyone please settle this massive family dispute? Edited at 09:42 AM. |

I can’t be sure but I would say that those prices seem right. Both parks have increased their prices during that time and the low exchange rate has had an impact too. A family member asked me the same question recently and when I compared the current online prices to what I have paid in the past the price increases have been huge. At the moment a two week ticket for Disney alone is £400 so I would say over £600 for both sounds right.

As expensive as it sounds that does seem about the right price

Prices have risen steeply in the last few years. Easily £2k for a family of 4 just for tickets and parking to enter Disney

Yeah our Disney universal switch ticket was £481 in 2017 and £385 in 2015. Can’t find 2013 price but might cry if I did, . Universal tickets have nearly doubled since volcano bay opened

Thanks guys and it looks lke I lost the argument
The tickets are in fact now £659 as they ordered them a while back with a deposit. So from £491 to £659. A whopping 34% increase in just 2 years! |

But all the parks have or are having new rides so to an extent as we want new rides and revamps we have to expect to pay for them.

They make enough profit to pay for the new rides, and I would rather star wars wasn’t happening. Not sure how many new rides/attractions Disney have since 2 years ago (not many).
I accept that I nor anyone else is forced to buy Disney tickets, so we won’t likely buy any again. As I often say I am lucky to have experienced Disney when it wasn’t busy all the time and it generally good service and not such an expensive place to visit. Edited at 11:35 AM. |

Walt Disney parks and resorts made $4.5bn in profits last year - up 100% since 2013 which has been driven by a combination of increases in attendances and ticket/merchandise.
Makes the $1bn investment in Star Wars quite small when they make that amount of profit in 3 months! |

Back in 2017 disney had a deal and knocked 25% off their tickets prices so that could be why there is such a jump in prices now
