Parentpay refund (or not)

This has to be one of the most frustrating processes ever - and my work involves trying to make customer processes smoother so Iíve seen some horrors in my time!
The recent trust pilot reviews will back me up!

DD11ís PGL was cancelled due to Covid. Eventually (and thatís another horror) PGL refunded and the money appeared on our parentpay account. Given my girls generally have packed lunches so rarely have the need for dinner money credit, it was a lot of money keep on the account for our purposes so I decided to go through the refund process. Jeeezzzzzz...

Initially, it told me the money had to be paid onto the correct payment card, (no issue with that), so I expected deposit on my CC and remainder on my debit. No.

Five days later as nothing had hit our current account, I log back in to see the refund money back in parentpay. No email, no nothing. I attempt again. Same thing happens. So I log a ticket . A few days later, Iím informed that the address details donít match up for part of the refund and only part can be paid (but they hadnít paid it, they kept hold of all of it only told me about it once I raised this ticket!).

So I go about giving them the address details (which havenít changed and are the same as the credit and debit card but who am I to question their wisdom?!). Again this bounces back. But some success, the parts that can be refunded without ďverification of addressĒ were refunded back (in a really convoluted way)...the whole amount was £275. This is what I got...

£60 deposit back onto CC in 1 transaction.

£178 (of the £215 remaining) back into current account. Five separate amounts ranging from £10.80 to £57.25. If I had paid them in that way, I would understand, but I didnít I paid £115, £50 and £50.

The remaining amount was paid in after I verified my address details again (no change). I got that in 3 transactions.

It took 3 weeks.

It would have been better to swap the girls onto hot dinners!

I also had that with Parent pay for DS trip, £195 in amounts ranging from £5.00 upwards. Annoying but at least my money was returned.

I have 50.00 in my account for my son and we are due to get a further 80.00 refund from a trip deposit. Parent pay says that you can request from as little as £5.00 - just clicked withdraw - Ďyou do not have enough money to make a withdrawalí 🤨

Iím expecting DDís residential to be cancelled and Iíve paid in full. My other DD would be scheduled to go 12m later so in my mind, the funds can be transferred from DD1 to DD2. I imagine itís not that simple though!
