Earning My Ears

Late Sep/Early Oct
Going back to Orlando for the first time since 2011. Going with just a mate and this will be my 10th time. Originally booked for 2020 but it got delayed for some reason...
Travelling package with TUI. Flying from Birmingham to Melbourne, with transfers and staying at Universal Dockside. We have the US/IOA/VB 14 day, 1 day to HS and FFP+Express HHN tickets. Here's our very rough plan: Day 1 (Sun 25th Sep) - Flight @ 0945, land 1340. IF we get to the hotel by 1800 after probable delays then we will go straight to US for HHN - if not then will go for food shop and relax. Day 2 (Mon 26th) - IOA (EPA if no HHN on day 1)/ TBC depending if went HHN day 1 Day 3 (Tues 27th) - US / Citywalk Day 4 (Wed 28th) - VB / HHN Day 5 (Thurs 29th) - TBC (Free time) / HHN Day 6 (Fri 30th) - IOA / TBC (possibly I-Drive, Mini-golf, Free time) Day 7 (Sat 1st Oct) - US / Citywalk (late one) Day 8 (Sun 2nd) - Hotel pool, washing, groceries etc / HHN (including Scareactor Dining) Day 9 (Mon 3rd) - VB (EPA + Premium Seating) / TBC Day 10 (Tues 4th) - HS (with Genie+, hopefully ILL for ROTR and maybe, just maybe - Fantasmic?) Day 11 (Wed 5th) - IOA (EPA) / HHN Day 12 (Thurs 6th) - US / HHN Day 13 (Fri 7th) - Florida Mall / Expensive dine out (TBC) + Citywalk Day 14 (Sat 8th) - TBC (possibly later entry to IOA) Day 15 (Sun 9th) - Flight @ 1540 A few TBC/free time spaces in there as we have late HHN nights and EPA occasionally. HHN on your first day sounds crazy to me, you will be so tried, I'd personally do the latter. I assume by your "maybe just maybe" you know Fantasmic isn't currently open, some rumours for 1st October though.

I'm hoping that Kennythepirate source is right and it being the 1st October. It's not a huge deal if we miss it but it would be great to catch it again.
We normally would just have a relax the day we land, get ourselves settled, get some food in etc. We are going to decide at the time how tired we are when we get to the hotel. We are just itching to get to HHN and if we don't do it on the first day, then we have to wait until the 4th day before we go and we are quite impatient The decision could be out of our hands completely though if we do have a delayed flight. If I can get some sleep on the plane and transfer, and we do get to the hotel approx 4-5pm that's when we'll be really struggling to not go, even for a couple of hours. |

Before we've stayed at some worse hotels for the 2 weeks just to save some money, such as Metropolitan Express and Monumental Movieland. These haven't got great reviews but we don't mind where we stay really as we are only in the hotel to sleep and have a wash etc, without even using the pool or other facilities.
Staying at Dockside will seem like more of a luxury this time |

Looks good to me!
You may as well have HHN as an option for your arrival day, even if you only do a couple of hours, it’s something to keep you going rather than crashing and sleeping too early. I mean, regardless I’m awake at 3am, but still. We’ll either do IoA the day we get there or if the other 2 aren’t feeling it, I’ll go into HHN for a little bit when they’re ready for bed, so we’re certainly on the same wave length.

Cheers VS.
Yeah exactly that. We don't have to stick to it as there are just too many variables to cement it in. I'm usually the tired one between the two of us going so if I'm feeling good to go then that'll usually decide it. HHN confirmed now for 2am close every night, but we definitely won't be doing that the first night. If we can do something like 7-10pm, that'll do us. Oh and I just noticed from your YT channel that I commented on your travel day video last month as we have the same timings. Hopefully we don't have the 3 hour transfer you had. Thanks for replying to it! Edited at 09:34 AM. |
