Problem pre-booking seats via Netflights?

Has anyone else had problems pre-booking seats when purchasing flights through netflights?

I booked flights with Aer Lingus via Netlights for next summer and my flights are showing on Aer Lingus' website. However, there is a note at the bottom saying I have to contact netflights to manage the booking as i did not book directly with them.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks

We had the same issue this Easter when we had booked flights with Aer Lingus through Netflights - Glasgow - Dublin - Orlando. Netflights said they were unable to pre-book seats.

I phoned Aer Lingus. The first time, I got a lady who was very unhelpful and quite cross and said that she couldn't help. I waited a few weeks and tried again. This time, I got a gentleman who pre-booked all the seats I wanted free of charge. It seems to depend on who you get. Worth giving Are Lingus a call.

Thank you. I'll be fuming if I am unable to pre-book seats as I should have been told this before booking!

One of the problems that happens quite a lot when booking through a third party there have been a few threads about this and netflights.

To be fair though it is not just them there are people who have booked a Disney hotel and tickets via a TA and not had their references at 60 days so not able to book fast passes.

I booked virgin and delta flights through netflights last week. When I finished the call I logged straight onto the virgin and then delta website and was able to prebook my seats with no problems whatsoever x

I wonder why I can't do this with Aer Lingus?

I've contacted Netflights and trying to sort it out with them. I'm annoyed though as I feel this should be made clear. I would have 100% waited and booked direct had I known. Food for thought for next time ...
