Just thought I'd update you all. Just had dad on the phone. What a pickle!

He was explaining his bad mood and lack of commitment as busy-ness with other matters, said there were other people he wanted on the guest list, expressing his alarm at the amount of money we are spending on the wedding and honeymoon, etc. Nothing good anyway. I said that I am concerned about him being too busy when other instalments need to be paid, and just spoke with mum and we are also concerned about him wanting involvement in plans (e.g. table plans) and also his comments about Matt. Mum thinks we should stick with Florida, I do too, so does Matt...BUT what a problem that will cause, I don't know. He said he is planning to visit the hotel on Wednesday to pay the deposit but he wants to speak to me one final time tomorrow evening on his way back from a business meeting.
I said to mum I just want everyone to be happy but any enjoyment she has had out of planning she has now lost and she was also quite looking forward to going to Florida. She is also worried about family conflicts following the divorce. I said I was concerned about Louise not being able to be there but she said that if Louise wants to be there, she will be given that she has afforded to go this year. Finally she said about concerns about dad suddenly not having the money when it comes to paying for things which is another valid choice.

Problem is I really don't know what I want. Part of me wants the big party, which we can have when we get back. Part of me wants to be the bride with everything to plan, now I've had a taste of it. And part of me just wants a stress free day, i.e. Florida.
Why does it have to be so difficult!

So, that's going to be a tricky conversation to have.

Just about to have my dinner...quiche and mash...mmmmm

Just thought I'd let you know the update xx

hey Ladies, just a quickie as loads to do and shattered. Went to work this morning to do handover with old employee helping me out, only for Ford to call and say 'the part we ordered has been fitted and it hasn't fixed it, so we don't know what it is, but recommend going to ... such and such a specialist'
So then Dad met me there and we drove to Specialist an hour away, dropped car off. So won't get it at all now until after honeymoon. Been basically in garage for about a week now. Dad is going to deal with it whilst we're away.
Borrowed one of their cars though, so can at least go places this week.

Tomorrow - nails, dress fitting, pick up all dresses.
Wednesday - cats at cattery, dog at Parents, pick up cake, clean house, do bedding for guests, shopping for food, brazilian hair treatment and tan
Thursday - guests arrived 12 at ours. Leave here to go to venue to take everything there, drop Dan off at best man's, then back to venue for meal with Parents before the wedding Friday.
Knackered reading that!

Nat - what a crappy dilemma for you to be in hun. I could strangle your Dad for you. He's just not prioritising it and I feel for you. It is hard to know what you want, but whatever you do it will be lovely.
Well done on the 2lb loss - the 12s! Woohoo, that's great news.

Kim - well done for showing up even though you knew it wouldn't be good. You'll lose it again. We'll get you back on track, don't you worry. What are you now and what is your goal? Do you have a date in mind?

Yvonne - Chinese is notorious for giving water retention because the salt content is so high. You will find that drops off. Always best to have Chinese at the beginning of the week, but it will make littler difference and that gain won't be fat. Well done for being good the rest of the time!
The table plan was yellow fabric over canvas, then lace attached at the top and bottom. Then cream card mounted on daisy coloured card and pale grey dotty card. Hope it goes down well on the day. Not that I ever notice things like that to be honest at a wedding! Think it's the bride that cares about things like that.

Just finished working as had job come in and it's very senior, so needed to work it and then email person helping me out to do the contacting people. Going to be hard being away really, but just need the break.

Went to doctors late today and got tranquilizers for flight, so all set! Going to do some beauty things tonight - sadly no time this week for eyelash tint, eyebrow tint and wax. Only time to get nails done I had hoped the run up would involve beauty treatments and relaxation, but events have conspired against me!

Good! Means I'll know what's happening before I go away. Will be nice to know for you. Just sat here with clay face mask on. Taken toe nail polish off ready for gel nails tomorrow. Going to take 3.5 hours to do toes and hands, so I'll probably fall asleep!

Going to have bath soon then do body wrap.

Oh Liz I'm so excited for you! Kel comes home tomorrow so you should be able to catch up too! Hope she does a trippie!
Just had a chat with my mum and we came up with a story about her job being at risk at work (it's possible, every February there's a review!) so her money may not be safe either so we're going with the cheaper option!
Florida here we come! Hoorah!

Little update for you!

Dad said he was going to call this pm to discuss but he sent me an email this morning to say he's too busy. He said he might be able to get to the hotel at some point this week. He said he thinks what we are spending on our wedding here (budget was £6500 so not too much money at all in the scheme of weddings!) is a lot of money and he wonders if we are doing the right thing. He also wanted me to extend guest list further (i.e. more money).
Discussed these things with mum last night and replied telling him that I agree with him (he'll like that ) it is a lot of money. Mum and I also spun a story last night about job security for her being a bit dicey (true, her job is reviewed every Feb) and that in view of that and the financial troubles that we had previously discussed, we feel that a UK wedding is not the best idea and we will have a small ceremony for immediate family in Florida instead. I said he is welcome to come but understand his financial troubles may mean that he is unable to and so we'll have a big party in the UK when we get back instead to celebrate with all our friends and family. With what he's been saying, he almost played into my hands! I don't really think he can argue with our choice in view of the financial aspect he keeps playing but I think he thinks the guilt of him not being able to come will make me change my mind but what he wants me to do I don't know. As we've said before, if we're paying for it, no-one can argue with what we're doing and no-one can dictate to us either. Everyone's a winner, and my mum gets to go back to Florida which she didn't think she'd ever get a chance to do again. Hoorah!

Hi girls,

Quiet on here again today!

Natalie - I think you have made the right choice sticking with Florida now but i do hope your dad doesnt end up changing his mind and getting you to think about changing again!

Our weddings are going to be so similar! Cypress Grove and then the Steak House (gordons choice) and then possibly a cruise (dependant on numbers)! Are you going to stick with the dress you have bought or look at a destination one?

Liz - hope you got the dresses ok and your nails are all glam!

Kim - hope your behaving and eating well!

I'm finished work but decided to go to VIPR class and its not til 5.30 so im just killing time. I was supposed to have tonight off but il just be bored if i go home and want to eat so i may as well just go!

I meant to say yesterday, I am trying to cut down a bit on carbs this week. My PT at the gym asked to see my food diary and saidf that i was eating way too many carbs! I explained i was doing slimming world and its fine on Extra Easy but hes not convinced! He has asked me to try and only have 1 portion of complex carbs a day - so i can choose one of either cereal, bread, pasta, noodles, potatoes or rice! I said i would give it a go but im not sure. I am mainly going to have RED days this week and try and eat more protein so yesterday and today ive had an atkins bar for breakfast (very filling actually and tasty!) chicken or boiled eggs for lunch and then having carbs with my dinner. He said to try and have them earlier but my dinner doesnt feel like a meal if i dont have rice or noodles!

So il try it this week and see how i go. He also said that i should eat every 4 hours (im guilty of skipping a meal if im not hungry) so i have had to force myself to eat lunch as ive still been full from the atkins bar! Anyway im away to have some fruit before the gym so i'll check in again later x

Yvonne, your SW decision is definitely worth a try! SW terrifies PTs and people like Kel but I've done it before, only ever did green and it did work. It's something to do with ease of digestion but give it a try for sure! It makes good dietary sense!

Well done you with your class!

I am definitely definitely sticking with my dress, I am far too in love with it! And it's within hand luggage weights too! Hoorah!

WEDDING UPDATE - Just spoke to dad and he agreed with our logic that we should get married in Florida

So that's it! Crisis and uncertainty over! So happy! So off to contact Carrie at Destination Occasion now to sort out booking our wedding! Very happy and excited!

And of course going to update my pre-trippie!

Hello ladies.
Well the big news is you deciding on that Nat! Woohoo, another countdown on the way. I'm really pleased for you and have to say that your email to your Dad was perfectly written and very assertive, without being pushy, if you know what I mean.

Yvonne - I think most diets work if you stick to one thing because low fat, Rosemary Conley has a fair few carbs in it, but they're low GI, so like Nat says, you can lose on it. I just think people tend to lose more quickly reducing carbs and have less hunger pangs, but again like Nat said the other day (feeling like a parrot here), some people want to lose quickly and others take it steady - we'll all get to the same place.

I am SO, SO stressed girls, I'm literally feel I might need to take a tranquilizer (for the plane!) and lie down. Went for nails, all looks lovely, but overran by 30 mins, so my poor Mum was sat outside my house waiting for me and had turned up early anyway. She'd left by the time I knew I was running late, so couldn't tell her. The petrol light came on, so was panicking. Got home, got petrol, drove to get dresses. Had to call and say would be late.
I think just all the rushing around and the fact I have driven about 4.5 hours today and am aching like mad, is getting too much.
Coupled with the fact I've had 1 of my bars (130 cals) and 1 Atkins bar - about 250? So hardly anything as not had chance to even stop anywhere. I'm feeling exhausted and stressed. Need to dry body brush, moisturise and tan, but cannot face it till I've eaten properly - got chicken in the oven.

Why is everything such hassle in the days running up to the wedding? On the plus side my Mum took the dog tonight. So tomorrow I just have to take the cats to the cattery, then pick up the cake. Then clean house, do beds and pack.
With any luck that will all be done by about 3pm and I can relax on the last night in this house - 2 more sleeps here is all.

When does Kel actually land I wonder? I can't wait to hear all her stories, but am going to be so distracted and stressed out. I feel physically sick. Help me calm down

I suspect she'll take off about 7pm (midnight here) ish and land at about 6.30am local time here tomorrow morning...I hope she had a wonderful time but I'm sad it's over for her

Amy went today, excited for her too!

Thanks for the thumbs up Liz, I'm really pleased and excited that I can plan it with everyone's approval, he was far more agreeing than I expected! It's wonderful!

Liz, please try to stay calm. Easier said than done, I know but it won't do you any good. You need to eat, lovely, as you need to keep your energy levels up or you'll make yourself ill for Friday and you don't want that. You seem to be doing a lot by yourself, can you delegate to anyone? On the plus side, these next 2 days will fly by and in 3 days you'll be a Mrs! Or he'll be a Mr, whichever way! I'm so excited for you! xxx
