There is an interesting video on you tube

Basically saying it's not as busy as first thought as maybe Star Wars is no longer as big as Disney thought it was !
Let's see what happens in Disney world!

WDW is a different kettle of fish. They have over 30,000 hotel rooms alone on property and are much more of an international tourist destination. I'd expect GE there to be much, much busier as a result unless they (hopefully) implement a virtual queue to enter the land.
I'm hoping they will implement a virtual queue or reserved entry but as we get closer I'm having doubts they will use either
Virtual lines work to a point but once the lines reach that point you just have a massive line to join the Virtual line
as for reserved entry I think we are too close for that to be implemented

They will only use a virtual queue if needed,I think they will not introduce in until closer the time, and reservations can't work in Disney world there are too many hotel rooms, far far more than Disneyland who only have 3 Disney hotels!

im not really up on/not star wars (when i say that i mean i saw star wars as a kid & the empire strkes back) but this seems a bit of a gamble to only use characters from the disney era star wars films/series... and to set if on a land that know one knows about... with only one ride (another one coming)...

>$200 for a lightsaber is outrageous... but not altogether surprising..

The price is not actually that bad compared to other websites that sell metal lightsabers (Saberforge, Ultrasabers, etc). In fact, its actually a good price when you factor in the whole experience as well.

For example, the Force FX lightsabers are around 200 (=$250) on Amazon.

Are the two rides going to be fastpass free or will they move to fastpass as well?

I will justify it to myself this way, I will give up chocolate (50p per day) for the next year to be able to hand build my own Lightsaber!
I,ve been in Jedi training for 42 years , its time I graduated!

Initially when just the one ride opens its not going to have fastpass. There is no news on when it will have fastpass but definitely not when it first opens. The second ride we don't know as only the date has been announced. They may do FPs from the get go or they may not have introduced FPs for Millenium Falcon then so therefore would have both without FPs. No one really knows. There is however a FP queue area according to people in the know so at some point MF is likely to have FPs

Our DS (22) is also planning to buy a light saber over there, his concern is fitting it in the suitcase for the trip home with case size airline restrictions

Perhaps surprisingly, you can actually carry a lightsaber in your hand luggage if it doesnt fit in your suitcase. See the following on the official TSA website:

tsa.gov/travel/security-...ms/light-saber

The lightsaber can be disassembled and the blade removed from the hilt. The blade is 36 inches long, so you could try measuring your suitcase beforehand to see if it will fit. I think it should fit in many large suitcases.
