Things to do if the parks close.

There’s quite a lot of us going over the next few weeks over Easter and there obviously is a lot of worry that the parks will close at some point during that time but travelling is allowed therefore no insurance payout.

Anyway, in the spirit of a post I just read, I’d like to create a plan B list of things to do in the areas around Orlando which can make an equally good holiday even if the worst happens and theme parks close. I’ve only ever been to WDW and Kennedy so got nothing here really!

Let’s compile a list...

My ideas so far:
• Anna Maria Island
• boggy creek air boats or spirit of the swamp
• winter park
• lake louise state park
• celebration

I've only done Disney & Universal so I don't know people opinions on these things. Excited to hear people's ideas!

The beach. Some great ones for a day trip out.

Winter Park is lovely too and the boat rides are great if still on. Xx

Just depends really- if park closed everything else is likely to be closed. Where I live they have closed schools, malls, gyms, pools, cinemas,
Spas etc

Where are you? That seems quite extreme outside of quarantine zones!

Suppose depends where your staying? Would on-site hotels likely close? What would happen with DDP.
If it was a Villa holiday then easier to get about it you have car. Onsite holiday in my opinion would be a no go.

We have talked as a family about this possibility.
We desperately hope it won't happen. First trip as a family, first trip for the 3 grandkids. Planned and looked forward to for years.

However, if it happens we will still be going if flying is allowed.
Staying in a villa, so for some of the 2 weeks we will happy to just chill there.

We would go to the beach a couple of times.

It does depend what is open, but there is plenty of none Disney and Universal activities if they stay open.

I suppose it’s very different if this is the scenario or just theme parks. If the above happened in Florida, surely it would be a no fly zone like Italy - then we could claim on insurance and not go (or go home early if necessary, not sure how it works). If areas just decide to close everything before the peak/quarantine the experts seems to think they will have to stay shut for months.

We would chill in the villa with the pool. Go to the beach. Maybe find some public parks. Walk around celebration. Maybe do mini golf if it was open.
