I have two of these come up this week - I dug them up in spring and put them in a pot which seems to suit them better than where they were - they were here when we moved in so over 21 years old!

Mine haven’t flowered well since I put them in pots when we dug the garden out for a drive. My next door neighbour still has them in the ground and they thrive there. I took a lot of the bulbs out this year so hoping less plants will encourage more flowers

My Lily came over from Ireland, when my Great Aunt Doris passed away, she was very glamorous and lived as a mistress to a rich man on a country estate next door to Chris De Burgh. We all got given some of the Lily, and mine have thrived both in pots, and in the flower beds (my shaded ones) only one flower so far but as you say, very exciting! 😂

My Alliums are lovely too!

Your Lilly’s are doing really well, love your Alliums as well. I might move mine to the back garden so they get sun for more of the day.

Mine actually thrive best in my shaded garden, its full of ferns, hostas, Lilys, etc.

They all look lovely. I love the story of how you got your lily too. Your aunt sounded quite a character 😀

She certainly was! I will try and get a photo of her.
The ladies on my mums side age really well, platinum white hair etc, which I am really hoping I get! No sign of it yet, even though I have not had my hair coloured for weeks.
