AMC Cinema Fork and Screen

Has anyone done the "fork and screen" at the AMC cinema at downtown disney? Minions Movie is out just before we go and we are considering a lunch time ish visit purely for the experience. Has anyone done it and can tell us what it is like, is the food really distracting from the film? Expensive for what it is? Recommend it for kids aged 11, 8 and 6? Or would it be more sensible to go in the eve after and already booked DTD ADR?

Thanks

We went in 2011, so a little while ago. It cost us about $100 in total I think for two adults, I can't tell you exactly what we go for that but I think it was one cocktail each, along with a starter and main.

We ordered the food during the trailers, it didn't distract from the film. It was a different experience and one we enjoyed, but not one we've felt the need to do again.

We much prefer Silvermoon drive in as an interesting cinema experience and it's a lot cheaper. But it's a bit of a drive, so you need a car.

Hope that's helpful

We did it about 3 years ago but didn't like the interruptions during the film, it was also too dark and we couldn't see what we were eating. The server also came with the bill during the film and then stood waiting for the money, so fumbling around in my bag and trying to write a travellers check in the dark was not good.

Thanks for replies, tbh i think ive talked myself out of it now. We can go after weve been to Raglan Road as we have a 6pm reservation so should be able to get to a showing at around 8ish which isnt then too late for the kids. Cinema is a huge treat here its not something we do regularly at all so an american one is something i think they will enjoy

We went a couple of weeks ago and thought it was quite fun. We only ordered picky junky food so it wasn't at all distracting. A full meal might be though.
We had a couple of drinks and DS had a ridiculously big bucket of popcorn too. Including tickets for the 3 of us it was about $120 (inc tip)
We ordered during the trailers and the server swiped a card to avoid bothering us later on.
We'd go again.
