Key Largo is much prettier than Florida City.

We loved Miami Beach. We are 2 adults and a 12YO. It was actually much quieter than we had imagined. In fact we had a sunset Segway tour and were driving down Ocean Drive during rush hour! I was dreading that part but it was fine!
We stayed in 2 hotels there for 1 night each (way in and way out) both of which I'd thoroughly recommend. The Grand Beach Hotel Surfside and The Eden Roc. Eden Roc was our favourite and closer to the action. As already mentioned, resort fees and parking can be extortionate! Best to check them before you press the button. We liked it so much that we'll go via Miami again next time.

We stayed at the savoy south beach for four nights. Our kids loved it. They were 11 and 14. We hired citi bikes and cycled along the sea front, my son loved watching the amazing cars cruising around. Going back to south beach next August for a few days before we head to the gulf coast

We stayed at the Shepley on Collins avenue, no added fees and a complimentary breakfast, it's one street back from ocean drive and a great location. We had our two girls 12 & 15 with us and walked everywhere, we also hired the Citi bikes early one morning,a great way to see things.

We're staying at The Marseilles Beachfront Hotel on Collins Avenue in South Beach at the beginning and end of our Florida holiday next year. Got a reasonable price locked in on booking.com for an ocean front room.
