cpap machines on a flight
My downes syndrome son has sleep apnoea and requires his cpap machine when ever he sleeps. If he doesn't use it he can wake himself and have a panic attack which then leads to a seizure. I have contacted BA to make sure he can use it in flight and they said it is fine but to make sure we run it off of a seperate power source, i.e. a battery. Does any one have any advice or experience of using a cpap with a battery and if so where did you get it from.

May be worth giving his sleep clinic(or whoever issued the machine a ring)
Is there an advice line where specialist nurses give advice? |

Some machines can use a large rechargeable battery, also check if the machine will work on 110v. I would speak to someone at the sleep clinic and ask their advice. You won't be the first to do this and I'm sure they will help

As a CPAP user I know the issues but I have to say I did not use it on the plane as I was adjusting my body clock to nightshifts.
First port of call would be to visit hope2sleep/ and have scroll through the forums. The other link I found is for battery hire: britishsnoring/cpap_battery_rental.php Hope this helps
