Day 9 – Kennedy Space Centre / The Whispering Canyon
Today was a trip to The Kennedy Space Centre
and we had 2 banana nut muffins (me and DW) and a choc muffin for the boy which we took to eat on the way for breakfast. We had also taken a couple of Magic Cookie bars and a brownie for lunch time! The food was better than we had thought at Kennedy and we shared a lunch of some chicken nuggets (DS mainly) and a buffalo chicken sandwich and fries for the wife and I. This was particularly good. I would say for anyone visisting Kennedy that the food looked better out at the Saturn building when on the bus tour which did filled sandwiches and a good range of other food however we thought it would be the same back at the main campus when we returned however the food outlets there were more of a fast food variety. You live and learn! After a cracking day at Kennedy it was nice to know that after the drive back tonight’s meal was in our own resort at the Whispering Canyon so it was a short walk for tea! Our server was right on the ball and not too overboard on the ‘high jinks’ that this restaurant is renowned for which was fine for us as we were just happy to watch and in all honesty it was all good natured and not too far over the top although when you have heard someone scream 'we need ketchup' for the 8th time it gets slightly grating... First up was the salad and corn bread... I had a strawberry milkshake which was lovely and it was bottomless... DW and DS had the sharing skillet which they said was really good and piping hot. I opted for the NY strip steak which was superb and way better than the one at Sanaa. I still had some room to try a little bit from the skillet and can testify that it was good! The carnage on the table afterwards... Way too full, we decided to have our dessert to go which I’m sorry to say lay in our fridge for a few days before meeting the bin! (ooey gooey chocolate cake and apple pie) DS though, incredibly managed his chocolate gooey pudding later (cold!) which he said was ‘awesome.’ Great meal here and exceeded my expectations.

Day 10 – Starring Rolls / Raglan Road
Cereal in our room and then off to HS where aound 11am our bellies were rumbling, DW and I headed to Starring Rolls
where we had a turkey sandwich (DW) and a ham sandwich for me. These come with a packet of Lays crisps and a drink. We then walked to the ABC Commissary for some chicken nuggets for the boy and he had an Olaf cup cake as a dessert. We had both bought a Napoleon from Starring Rolls where as ever were magic! 3 CS credits used. We kept going after that and then bussed to Disney Springs for our ADR at Raglan Road. We had eaten here last year and it was a cracking meal so we were looking forward to it. We waited a bit longer for a table as we had requested one in the main bar area overlooking the stage and it was worth it as we were seated right in front (and in fact attached! ) to the mini stage. Once again a great meal with first class service. The Guiness reduction and bread to start which was demolished as we were starving, the bangers and booze for me Sod the stew for DW with fries and fish and chips for DS. Excellent all round and 3 clean plates…. Dessert was a no brainer for me and I very nearly finished Ger’s bread and butter pudding which is as good as a pudding gets for me! DW had the Sinful trifle which she declared was superb and DS had the Dunbrody Kiss. All washed down with some beer and cider and enjoyed with the dancing and the live band. Best night out/meal of the holiday without a doubt! 3 TS credits used.

Day 11 – Crystal Palace / Epcot Food & Wine
It was my birthday today and with what is becoming tradition it started with a visit to the Crystal Palace at MK. There was some Mickey glitter on the table when I arrived...
The buffet is always good here and this year was no exception. Nice card and small birthday cake with candle too! Carb intake is high here thanks to waffles, Pooh’s puff French toast and the famous breakfast lasagne all caked in maple syrup. This is a favourite of DS's and he went to town with oddball creations such as a croissant sandwich and ice cream for breakfast and he had to have his chocolate chip pancakes. Only in America! 3 TS credits used. We had a couple of lattes from Starbucks around lunch time using 2 snack credits. The latter part of the day was all about the Food and Wine at Epcot and we arrived mid afternoon and enjoyed some browsing and a couple of beers. DS decided he would have a fish supper from the Yorkshire County using a CS credit and subbed the dessert for a bottle of water. He later had a scoop of choc ice cream from L'Arstisan de Glaces using a snack credit. We started our food and wine night with the cheese soup and pretzel bread in Canada (1 snack) before moving on to Patagonia for the Empanada. Both were pretty good. Stop 3 was the loaded mac and cheese from Farm Fresh which was very tasty and then a lamb meatball from New Zealand which never saw daylight! Needing a sweet taste for a change we shared the raspberry chocolate torte from the Choc Studio which although was very rich was lovely as a sharer. We slowly made our way around the World Showcase and on reaching Morocco shared the Humus fries and the chocolate Baklava. Both were very good. Feeling fairly full by now we only had one more stop in America where we watched Christopher Cross (remember him!) whilst eating the brisket on toast from Hops and Barley. Each stop cost a snack credit for each and so good value on the dining plan and and a good night out.

Day 12 – Sunshine Seasons / Yachtsman Steakhouse
Cereal in the room again and then on to Epcot. After a busy morning we decided not to go around the World Show Case for lunch (as originally planned at Kringla Bakery/American Pavillion) and opted for Sunshine Seasons via The Electric Umbrella for Mr Fussy who wanted Chicken pieces.
We both had the Turkey and monterrey jack cheese and chipotle sandwich with potato salad and coleslaw (for me) which were huge. I had a strawberry shortcake for dessert and DW the Mocha Roulade cake which she said was the best cake she had eaten yet! DS's offerings from the Electric Umbrella which must have the guffest menu of any eatery at Disney! Tonight’s meal was our only signature dining at the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club. We encountered some drama before the meal when we arrived to park at the YC. We wanted to have a quick stroll around to the other side of the Boardwalk before our meal to pick up a cushion DW had wanted to buy and so I thought there would not be a problem parking less than an hour before our ADR. The guy on the parking however said ‘You can only park for 2 hours, unless you want to valet park for $25.’ Knowing this wouldn’t likely be long enough for our meal we were forced to about turn as I wasn’t prepared to shell out $25 for the priviledge of spending money to eat in their resort too! A good start. We came back 45 mins later and I parked up and the car lot was rammed with cars double parked and on verges etc. The place was a shambles and consistent with what I had heard about the Epcot resorts parking lots. DW decided to raise it with the YC staff on entering the YC and met a lovely Concierge and manager who in true Disney fashion were very apologetic and decided to credit $75 to our room. Well done Disney. Nothing like throwing money at something to make the problem go away! It worked for us anyway. Anyway onto the meal at the Yachtsman which once again was again was fabulous. That onion bread with the crushed garlic and butter (bliss….) and then onto the mains... 10 oz fillet with mash for me which was as tender a steak as I have eaten the NY strip for DS with salt and vinegar fries (which she says are like eating the bottom of a packet of salt & vinegar crisps!) with peppercorn sauce and chicken breasts with fries for the boy. We managed a dessert with DS having some ice cream the Crème Brulee for me and Chocolate Peanut cake for DW. Great meal and great service. 'Nuff said. 6 TS credits used.

Day 13 – Wolfgang Puck / Roaring Fork
Usual fare at Roaring Forks for us today for breakfast on the run (Cinammon pecan swirl, 2 x muffin – choc and banana and nut) using a CS credit and then onto HS.
After a busy morning it was on to Disney Springs for a visit to Wolfy Pucks as it is known to us which is always a nice lunch. We were seated fairly quickly and the food arrived fairly quickly – Meat loaf for me meat loaf sandwich for DW and pepperoni pizza for DS We decided to get our desserts to take away ( 3 x brownies). Our meal included a comical meltdown from a prima donna American guy complaining about almost anything he could think of which seemed to please his mortified wife! 3 CS credits used. Later on we couldn’t resist Ghirardellis and we again went for the 2 scoop option each and also bought a bottle of their chocolate sauce from the shop using another snack credit which of course had to be used on the ice cream. It would be rude not to…… (4 x snack credits burned) After such a big meal we didn’t really feel hungry again all day (a common theme here). We had a pretty fruitless hour or so in MK which was absolutely rammed and so we bailed out and went back to Disney Springs where DS declared he was peckish and so had a Wetzel’s pretzel (1 snack credit). We got back to WL around 9 and decided to have a bit of a snack and so we all shared a pepperoni flatbread and Magic Cookie Bar and used another snack credit on a Mickeys premium bar for DS.
